We’re getting a bridge!
On Wednesday 22 October contractors working for Somerset Council are going to be installing a bridge (although not the one in the picture!) to cross over the stream on the Langley Moor footpath. So no more slippy slidey escapades in the winter that have ended up with some people taking a tumble.
The bridge will be slightly to the side of the current crossing, closer to the big alder tree, so access across the stream should still be possible while works are underway. If they don’t finish on Wednesday they’ll come back to finish on Thursday.
When the bridge is finished we’ll organise a volunteer day to dig out the concrete culvert and open up the stream.
And in case you’re wondering, the bridge in the picture is designed by Richard La Trobe Bateman of Bath – we can always dream!
